Buyers include other farms, ag businesses, restaurants, retailers, and everyday consumers — anyone looking to buy direct from the source. Sellers choose their own minimum order quantities, so listings range from full pallets and equipment down to a dozen eggs.
Is it really free to join?+
Yes. Signing up, browsing, listing items, and messaging other members is free. A small Farm-2 transaction fee applies on completed sales.
How does verification work?+
Our team confirms you operate an eligible North American farm — typically within 1–2 business days. Sellers connect a Stripe payout account before their first listing goes live. Verification is what makes the network trustworthy and the pricing honest.
How does the rating system work?+
After every completed transaction, both buyer and seller rate each other (1–5 stars + written review). Ratings appear publicly on every profile so the best farmers build reputation and the few bad actors get filtered out quickly. You can only rate someone you've actually transacted with.
How are payments handled?+
All payments run securely through Stripe. Funds are held in escrow until delivery is confirmed, then released to the seller automatically.
What if something goes wrong?+
Because funds are held in escrow until delivery confirmation, buyers are protected from the most common marketplace risks. If there's a dispute — wrong item, damaged delivery, service not rendered — Farm-2 mediates between the parties. Persistent bad actors lose verification status.
Do I need a separate buyer and seller account?+
No. Every Farm-2 member has one account. You can browse and buy from day one, and post your own listings from the same profile whenever you're ready.
Can I set bulk or volume pricing?+
Yes. Every listing supports multiple price tiers: per-unit, volume discounts, pallet or case pricing, and seasonal contract rates. Buyers see all tiers upfront and checkout calculates automatically.
Can I use Farm-2 across the border?+
Yes. Farm-2 is a single continental network covering Canada and the United States. Cross-border transactions are supported with automatic currency display; buyers and sellers handle their own customs paperwork and import duties, which we surface clearly at checkout.
